Psych Dock also wants me to switch and says take 50 mg Zoloft and 10 mg Prozac at same time for 2 weeks then go to 20 mg Prozac. I am being treated for anxiety and this cross info is scaring me. I don't want to be dead like Anna Nicole's son.... Been on Zoloft 100 mg for 8 months and gained 40 lbs. Med Doc wants me to switch and says cut back to 50 mg Zoloft for 1 week then start 20 mg Prozac. I would talk to your psych doc and tell him what your regular doctor told you and see what he says at that point. After that, I would personally go with whatever he says since he may understand the drugs more than your regular doctor does. They know more about that field then your regular doctor. If you are really worried then call your psych doc and ask them. I am pretty sure you can take them together because you have to have the weaning process from the other drug and be able to start the other. It is a response to potential future events, while fear is a response to an immediate threat. Anxiety disorders include panic disorder, social phobia, specific phobias, and generalized anxiety disorder. Prozac and Zoloft are two common SSRI medications prescribed for the treatment of neuropsychiatric conditions, most notably, major depressive disorder MDD. Can anyone tell me their experiences with these drugs? Im' taking prozac but I know someone who tried Lexapro, didnt' work but Zoloft did wonders for her anxiety.
